Tim & Llama: Wedding Story

February 8, 2009

Well, it ’bout time I posted this wedding!  Tim & Llama were married Dec. 6th, 2008, and I just got so busy around the holidays that I never got around to posting their wedding story!  Well, here’s to a little catch-up work during the slow season to keep the blog exciting…

NAMES Llama Taylor (now Temple) and Tim Temple

LIVE IN Salem, OR

OCCUPATIONS She’s a social worker specializing as an Adolescent/Family Therapist and he’s a Commercial Plumber who helped build the new convention center, buildings at U of O and OSU, etc.

 NUMBER OF ATTENDEES ?? I don’t even know?  I’d guess around 175

NUMBER OF ATTENDANTS Eight bridesmaids and four groomsmen

HOW THEY MET Llama was out with a friend, and so was Tim.  The girls spotted the boys first.  Llama’s friend made eyes at his friend, the boys came over, and now all four of us are married!

THE ENGAGEMENT Despite growing up in Oregon, neither of us had ever been in a lighthouse. Tim proposed in Yaquina Head Lighthouse in the stinky oil room on our 2 year dating anniversary.

WHAT ATTRACTED HER TO HIM His eyes, his sense of humor, his sincerity, and his life goals

WHAT ATTRACTED HIM TO HER “Just the way you relate to me.”

A DATE THEY’LL ALWAYS REMEMBER On our second date we hated each other. J Llama was too eccentric, with vegetarian pizza and Sundance films, and Tim was impatient and not impressed.

WEDDING THEME Winter night with white lights and candles

WEDDING COLORS Moss green and metallic gold

WEDDING FLOWERS “Spicy” Roses and pussy willows

WEDDING CAKE Cream with a gold ribbon. White with Bavarian cream and chocolate with raspberry.

FAVORITE DETAIL Getting married in the middle of an old, gorgeously restored, barn.  Finding and tweaking the Celtic “tying the knot” tradition, and incorporating it into our ceremony.

THE MOST UNEXPECTED ELEMENT When one of the 5 flower girls (Llama’s 2 year old niece) veered left and started sprinkling rose petals over by the bar!  J

HOW THE WEDDING WAS DIFFERENT THAN THEY EXPECTED At the last minute we changed the song that we were going to dance to, then wished we wouldn’t have, as our song is “You are the Best Thing” by Ray Lamontagne.
